A little bit of history
The Neptali Henriquez Park is a community playground and is situated between Surfside beach (west of roundabout Las Americas), Aruba Surfside Marina and the new Aruba Linear park trail. Neptali Park was founded in 1974 by Mr. Neptali Esajus Henriquez Sr. and it soon became a popular spot for many children to play. For a large number of years Mrs. Florence Wekker was in charge of the daily operations and nowadays Aruban parents still remember this attractive park from their childhood. After Mrs. Wekker got ill the park fell into decline and was hardly used anymore for a number of years.
As of 2010 a new Board, chaired by Mr. Bibi Arends, took over the operations and the park has since been completely restored and re-activated and has become a very popular community playground in Aruba again.
